We are very fortunate to have partnered with some incredible people from different countries and walks of life who have reached out to BKC to offer help to Ukrainians. Last year, we were contacted by Kenny Watson from the UK, who raised funds for conflict-affected children in Ukraine in honour of his son Murray, who tragically lost his life to cancer. Kenny and Nicola Watsons created the Murray Watson Trust to endorse worthy causes in the loving memory of their son. In the past two years, the charity has provided BKC with significant support. This time, the trust donated to Bright Kids Charity an incredible £2,000, raised through several great initiatives:
- MWT Choir. All Together Now Community Choir chose the MWT as one of their supported charities and kindly donated £500;
- MWT Disco & Quiz. Kenny and Nicola held a joint charity night with a couple of their good friends who sadly have also lost their son at a very young age, raising money for activities supported by Ed’s and Murray’s charities;
- MWT 6-A-Side Football Tournament – an annual MWT charity event still strongly supported by Murray’s old friends, teammates and old school colleagues. Kenny shared that it was a great day of football, followed by a night of music and laughter.
We want to say a huge thank you to the Murray Watson Trust and everyone who got involved in raising vital funds for children affected by the war in Ukraine.
