Throughout the second quarter of 2026, the Bright Kids team continued its systematic work to support children and families facing difficult life circumstances and requiring long-term assistance. We are sincerely grateful to our long-standing donors — particularly GlobalGiving (USA) and Poki (the Netherlands) — and partners, whose support enables us to continue implementing our programmes, responding to the current needs of our beneficiaries, and providing consistent assistance where it is needed most.
We are pleased to share the Bright Kids activity report for the period from April to June 2026. The total budget for charitable and project activities during the reporting period amounted to UAH 1,234,999.76 (approximately USD 29,760).
Throughout the reporting period, our work focused primarily on supporting the health, psychological well-being, and development of children from vulnerable groups. We continued implementing the project “Psychological Support and Compensation for Educational Losses for Ukrainian Children from Vulnerable Categories Living in Under-Served Areas of Ukraine”. Thanks to our productive cooperation with Caritas Poltava and Volunteer League, our centres in Poltava and Berestyn (Kharkiv region) continued their daily operations, providing children with access to psychological support, learning, and development opportunities.
Supporting children with disabilities and their families remains an important part of our work. During the reporting period, Bright Kids funded rehabilitation programmes for three children, helping their families ensure access to the support necessary for their children’s health and development.
Additionally, as part of our individual assistance programme, we covered the cost of necessary medicines for a beneficiary of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 1.
We also continued supporting mothers raising children with disabilities who are developing their own businesses. During the reporting period, four mothers received support through the purchase of materials and equipment necessary to further develop their professional activities. Supported areas included depilation, eyelash and eyebrow lamination, tattooing, special education practice, and the development of the “Childhood and ASD” Child Development Centre. This support enables mothers, who balance constant care with their professional lives, to become more financially independent.
A special place in this reporting period belongs to the story of the Kovalenko family. We have been supporting them for a long time. Following a serious road accident in 2016, Vladyslav has been on a long journey of recovery. After the full-scale invasion began, the family was forced to leave their home in Vovchansk. As part of this ongoing support, Bright Kids provides rehabilitation for Vladyslav and assists his mother, Alina, through our “Professions of the Future” initiative, specifically by providing materials for her work as a nail technician. In April, our team had the opportunity to visit the family. This meeting allowed us to see the real results of our support and discuss the next steps.
In April, our team also visited our long-standing friends and partners, the Kmytiv and Dovbysh specialised educational institutions in the Zhytomyr region. We met with the management and children, discussed current challenges, and identified the needs of each institution to inform future support. Such visits are a vital part of our systematic approach, ensuring that our assistance is responsive and impactful.
